Frequently Asked Questions

Do you see clients in person or remotely?

At this time, Schram Nutrition is 100% remote, using telehealth platforms.

What can I expect working with you?

Think of me as your no BS nutrition therapist. Here, you won’t find any diet culture nonsense, calorie or macro counting, weight loss plans, shame, or judgement. It’s my job to create a safe space for us to challenge belief systems, dig into the root cause of your symptoms, learn about nutrition (what the science ACTUALLY says), and help you discover what sustainable lifestyle changes make YOU feel your best. Your goals are my goals!

Who can work with you?

I can see clients anywhere, but I can only provide superbills (insurance receipts) for those in Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, Maryland, Virginia, Colorado, and California. If you live outside of those states, sessions are self-pay only.

Do you take insurance?

At this time, I do not accept insurance. I do provide and submit superbills for each session. A superbill is a standardized receipt outlining the nutrition services provided by Schram Nutrition that can be submitted to your insurance provider to request reimbursement.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes! I am happy to discuss various options if a payment plan would be best for you.

Do you offer student discounts or use a sliding scale?

Yes! I offer student discounts on all sessions. I can also offer 1-2 sliding scale spots as needed.

I am interested in the functional testing. How does that work?

Advanced functional lab testing is very personalized. If you are interested in working together to do testing, we recommend booking a complimentary 15-minute discovery call, where we can discuss your needs and how which tests might be best for you! We currently offer three different functional labs:

  • GI-MAP + Zonulin (a stool test used to identify gut imbalances that might be contributing to issues with digestion, absorption, inflammation, and immune function)

  • SIBO Breath Test (a breath test used to measure levels of hydrogen, methane, and hydrogen sulfide to determine bacterial overgrowth in the small intestine)

  • DUTCH Plus (a urine and saliva test used to evaluate sex and adrenal hormone levels)

Do you provide meal plans?

While we will discuss meal planning, what adequate intake looks like, meal timing, balanced meals and more, I do not provide set meal plans. My goal is to provide you with the tools and knowledge to make your own decisions about what type of “eating plan” works best for you. Nutrition is individual, and how, what, and when you eat should be, too.
